The University of Pisa – in order to ensure the psychological and physical well-being of students and university staff, in any capacity belonging to the Pisa academic community, and to promote an inclusive study and working environment grounded in the fundamental value of equal human dignity, while eliminating situations of discomfort for those who wish to change their name and identity in the expression of their gender self-determination – has introduced the alias identity career system (regulation).
It is possible to activate an “alias identity career” (career alias system) without the need to present any medical certification, for students, lecturers, staff, managers, members of governing bodies, and all individuals who, in various capacities, including occasional or temporary roles, operate within the University’s structures.
Applicants will be assigned a provisional identity for the issuance of updated identification documents, such as the university ID booklet or badge, a new email account, or name badges. Furthermore, in order to ensure full access to the alias identity system, the University of Pisa, through its Joint Committee for Equal Opportunities (CUG), is committed to providing appropriate training on the matter.
