For the academic year 2024/2025, the University of Pisa, Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, offers the Advanced Training Course “Gender and Health: Promoting Equality and Enhancing Differences in Clinical Organisation and Practice.”
The course aims to enrich the training of professionals working in clinical settings (healthcare staff, administrative personnel, and legal practitioners), and to provide innovative interpretative frameworks and in-depth tools to graduates, particularly in the fields of medicine and social sciences, as well as to postgraduate medical trainees and PhD candidates in the above areas. It focuses on the impact of sex and gender differences in relation to clinical research, clinical practice, healthcare organisation, and the effective implementation of fundamental rights connected to bodily dimension, personal identity, and self-determination in reproductive choices. The topics are addressed from an interdisciplinary perspective involving, in particular, medical, legal, sociological, and information technology fields.
