The University’s Joint Committee for Equal Opportunities (CUG), within the activities defined by its strategic planning for equality, the promotion of diversity, and inclusion, places the university community at the centre of its action in order to foster a working, study, and research environment grounded in physical and psychological well-being. The CUG has developed a comprehensive welfare policy in which concrete financial support measures aimed at facilitating work–life balance and promoting inclusion are combined with a range of cultural initiatives. This reflects the belief that only through cultural change can genuine social transformation be achieved, based on equal opportunities and the fight against all forms of discrimination.
The seminar activity “Affectivity and sexuality” is therefore part of the long-standing path undertaken by the CUG towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 10 of the 2030 Agenda. Within this framework, education on affectivity and sexuality is understood as a learning process grounded in respect, knowledge, consent, and the development of positive attitudes in relational dynamics. The deconstruction of prejudices and stereotypes, which underlie discriminatory phenomena and violent behaviours, represents the starting point for guiding mothers, fathers, guardians, grandparents, and anyone involved in children’s lives through an educational and orientation process aimed at fostering social and sexual relationships based on respect for human rights.
The meetings are free of charge and open to the entire university community (students; research fellows; PhD candidates; postdoctoral researchers; postgraduate medical trainees; academic staff and researchers; and technical and administrative staff).
To ensure the widest possible participation, the CUG has planned three online meetings on Monday 14 October, Wednesday 16 October, and Monday 21 October, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (the poster, attached, includes the link and the corresponding QR code for access), as well as a final in-person meeting on Wednesday 23 October from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., which will include a practical workshop aimed at providing concrete tools for addressing complex issues.
